Greetings from Winterpug!

The Forks, Winnipug, MB. Dis Me and Female Human. It so cold I call da place Winterpug! (HAHA!)

Greetings from "The Middle Province"! We have been staying in a really cool house with a wonderful female human. She very nice to me and makes a lot of foods I like to eat. I volunteered to be her sous chef. She gave me piece of tofu the other day. Shhh-don't tell my humans aldough I have a sneaking suspicion dey already know.

I seen so many amazing things here in Winnipug so far. We went sightseeing da other day at a place called Da Forks. It where da Red River meet da Assiniboine River. It very important strategic place historically. I saw geese der! I don't like geese. Dey not very nice to me aldough I very nice to dem. I watched them swim away. I thought about joining dem but I wasn't invited so thought it best to stay on dry land. Plus it was freezing dat day! Water too cold for dis Pugzu!

Assiniboine, River. Winnipug, MB. Geese don't like me.

Today, my humans worked a lot. Which is very boring for me. But we took a break and went for a nice walk at a place called Osborne Village. There lots of nice stores der dat female human wanted to browse in. But, guess what!? I invited to browse too and got so many treats from the humans who work there! I think I invited because they all thought I was a Pekingese. Dis a popular dog breed dat they call "pure", whatever dat mean, but dis Pugzu fool them all! Dey all shock to learn I part pug and shih tzu. I was very well behaved and super polite. Dis da Pugzu way!

Tomorrow, bearded human has a show in a place called Gimli. Me and female human going to stay in Winnipug cuz it a long drive and I not invited to dis show. Anyway, time for a nap!

Happy International Dog Day and Bro-Tel Backyard Festival

John Dudar Park at Jack Fish Lake, AB. Bro-Tel Backyard Festival

First off, Happy International Dog Day! Raise da woof for my canine brothers and sisters!

Wow! What a fun last few days! We spent da weekend in da country and I camped again. I'm really good at camping now. Bearded human played music and we all had a great time! On da first night, I watched humans make a fire. It was really impressive but then da sky started crying A LOT so we all hunkered down in tent. We fell asleep to da live music that night. The stage was very close to tent.

I was off leash most da time at Jack Fish lake. It was great! I ran around lots and walked down to da dock to look at da water a few times. It very muddy looking though so I decided it a good idea not to swim. Also, I got to watch all da concerts! I officially a Rock n' Roll Pugzu Roadie. Bro-Tel should be renamed Bro-Pug because dey Pro-Pug! I treated just like a human. I even got to taste a french fry. It fell on da ground but still delicious!

Jack Fish Lake, AB. Water look like glass!

We back in Regina and making our way to a place called Winnipug today. I very excited to go to a place named after pugs. Female human excited because she love da cream cheese from der. She says it da best in Canada! I looking forward to learning all about Louis Riel and da Red River Rebellion. It an important part of Canadian history. Also, we gonna buy lots more bug spray before we reach Manitoba.

Back in Edmonton but Off to Bro-Tel Backyard Festival!

Edmonton, AB. Hanging with bearded human during some downtime

Today an exciting day because we are traveling to a music festival where bearded human is playing dis weekend. It called Bro-Tel and it in a place called John Dudar Park. Humans say that it is quite remote so we may not get much cell service or Wi-Fi. Dis also mean I have to camp again. I like bed better but I guess a couple of days in tent won't hurt me. Aldough, it is very windy today in Edmonton and dis scare me a bit. Last time we camped, I heard lots of scary noises from da sky!

Dis a promo poster. I didn't make it.

Saskatoon was great! My 3 cat roommates seem to like me in da end aldough I hear bearded human say dey just tolerated me-whatever dat mean! What was also great about Saskatoon was I got a free iced cream at a wonderful dog friendly place called Beppie's Gelato. https://www.facebook.com/beppisgelato/. Dey even have a dog on their sign! Also, I got to go to a cafe where bearded human was playing music. It called D'lish by Tish. I sat on da patio and made so many human friends! I even met a fan who follow me on Instagram!

Yesterday, was lots of driving but we got a nice, warm bed to sleep in and I got a roast chicken dinner! It was amazing. Female human made hostess human and bearded human a pasta pomodoro. It smelled really good but I was happy with my chicken.

Today, we must stop to pick up some supplies at The Canadian Superstore. I wrote out my grocery list dis morning:

   Dear Humans,

Hi! Dis Bogart!! Dis what I need for camping:
   1) Chicken
   2) Da pink fish (I think it called salmon)
   3) Chicken....oops already mention that.

Anyway, I gotta go now. I see a big rabbit outside and I need to bark at it.

A Recap Over Da Last Few Days

Red Deer, AB. Manning the door at The Velvet Olive.

It been a long few days but I finally have some downtime to write a little! I been to many places recently-Red Deer, Regina and now Saskatoon!

Red Deer not my favourite. Not much fun things to do there but I was given a job to do! I take my job very seriously. I got to be da bouncer at bearded human's gig. It was great! I got paid in nachos. Dey fell on the ground but, still, it worth it!

After Red Deer, we packed up again and drove for many years. Finally, we arrived in a place called Regina. Regina mean queen in Latin and it named after Queen Victoria. I exhausted when we arrived! After a good night's rest, me and my humans went on a two hour walk in a place called Wascana Park! I see many new things including Canadian Geese and Pelicans! In Vancouver, I see Canadian Geese only in the form of very expensive coats dey sell at a place called Nordstrom. Also, bearded human get mad at me when I try to eat goose poo. I spit it out.

Wascana Park, Regina. Taking a quick break in da shade.

I really like Regina. We stay with a very nice family and dey had a dog name Jersey. I don't think she like me very much but I like her. I kept my distance cuz I a respectful pugzu!

Today, we drove for a few hours and ended up in a place called Saskatoon. We are staying with a great couple in da city. But, I am a little worried because I have 3 extra roommates....and dey all cats!! I think one of dem, Lulu, likes me but I cannot be certain. I will keep my distance and let Lulu come to me. I don't want to be a dog stereotype and chase cats. Dis is rude and unbecoming of a K9 houseguest.

Tomorrow, bearded human has a show at a place called D'lish by Tish. I might get to come because dey have a patio! Anyway, I gotta go now because female human is making chicken and I gonna look super cute and hopefully she will give me some.

On Da Road Again! Red Deer Bound

Dis Me! Relaxing on Deck in Edmonton

Da last couple days have been great! I went on lots of walks and stay dry from da rain yesterday. Staying in house not like camping. When it is sunny out, I spend lots of time on da deck working on my tan. I love da sun!

On Thursday, I had a great day! I went exploring in a place called Whyte Ave. I met lots of humans and dogs. I met a very nice man at a place called Tavern on Whyte. He let me sit on da patio like da humans! Bearded human will be playing music there when we return to Edmonton next week. Also, I got invited to a BBQ at bearded human's cousin's house. It was so fun! I did lots of tricks and a very nice little girl human gave me Cheerios for my efforts. I really earn dem! After dat, we went for a visit with my grandparent humans. Dey in town for a wedding my humans went to yesterday.

Whyte Ave! Straight Chillin' with Female Human.

Anyway, after lots of rest, relaxation, play and socializing, it time to hit da road again! Today is a short drive from Edmonton to a place called Red Deer. Bearded human is playing music der tonight at a place called The Velvet Olive. Pugzus not allowed at dis venue but it still seem like a cool place to visit. I gotta go now! Female human says I need to finish my breakfast and drink some water before da car ride.

Rest and Relaxation Important!

West Edmonton, AB. Dis Me and Bearded Human Waiting for Breakfast!

Da last two days have been really restful and I didn't have to go in da car once! I like taking a break from car. I have been too busy playing and being a good pugzu to our hostess here in Edmonton to write yesterday. She take me on walks when she get home from work and I am so grateful! Der lots of great places to walk around here and I even seen giant things that hop! Dey called Rabbits or Hares. Dey are pretty big so I keep my distance but like to watch dem from the comfort of the porch.

My humans have been having a great time! Dey like having a kitchen to cook in and our hostess also been making us very delicious food. She even give me some! Yesterday, bearded human had a show at a place called The Sewing Machine Factory with Emmet Michael and Dylan David Hart. I heard it was a great show! My female human showed me dis picture so I will share with you all!

Edmonton, Alberta. The Sewing Machine Factory. Cool Geetar!

I have lots more places to explore but it nice being able to just enjoy one spot for a little while. Bearded human has another show tonight! It at a place called Sherlock Holmes Pub. I think it named after da books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle but I can't be certain. Also, dis a funny picture humans show me on der adventures at West Edmonton Mall.

West Edmonton Mall, AB. Silly Humans!

Tonight I hope female human will make some delicious Alberta beef! A T-Bone would be nice. A pugzu can dream right?

A Little Pug on The Prairie

Kaslo, BC. My Bags are packed and ready to go!

Yesterday was da longest day of my life-in both human and dog years! We woke up very early in da morning to pack up camp. The sky was crying so da ground and our tent were soaking wet. Luckily, humans knew what to do and we packed up very quickly and hit da road! I loved da Kootenay region but da weather was wild, even for me! I just kept thinking, "Bogart, why didn't you pack your raincoat?!"

Once we were in da car, we were in da car for what felt like many years. We drove from 7:30am to 9pm from Kaslo all da way to Edmonton! I see many things in between including mountain goats in da Rocky Mountains!

From der we drove to a place called Calgary and den to Edmonton. Outside is very flat here and I don't see any mountains or hills! Dat okay, more open space for me to run. I shot dis video from da car.

Outside of Red Deer, Alberta. Where da mountain go?!

Finally, after 10 years or so, we arrive in Edmonton! My humans are very happy because da house we are staying at is within walking distance of West Edmonton Mall. I don't know why dis exciting for dem but I suppose I can relate it to da feeling I have about sticks or roast chicken. We are staying with a very nice female human who give me a cozy bed to sleep in. Today we relax and will go for many walks. My humans slept for a long time dis morning but still got up early to give me my walk. Bearded human has as show tonight called Rockin' For Dollars on White Avenue. It start late dough so I think I will probably be asleep by den. Tomorrow I plan on going for more walks and play lots.

We Did Lots of Travel!

Craigellachie, BC. The Last Spike. First time on a train!

Yesterday was crazy! I smelled so many places and met so many dogs and humans! Our first stop outside of Kamloops was Craigellachie. Dis da site of The Last Spike. Dis super important part of Canadian history. It was the last spike driven into da Canadian Pacific Railway in November of 1885. Dis symbolized da whole of Canada being united by rail! Also, dis the reason British Columbia agreed to confederate. Da federal government made a promise and dey kept it even dough dey made the promise in 1871. Things took more than dog years back then!

We also made our way to da Columbia River in Revelstoke! I seen 3 important rivers now- Da Fraser, Da Thompson and Da Columbia. I could basically teach a grade 2 geography class! It was super beautiful!

Da Columbia River in Revelstoke, BC. It Pretty!

After we leave Revelstoke we drove a long time and den we hit the end of the highway. We had to take a ferry across Arrow Lake to Nakusp. I love ferry! I felt very safe here and basically became captain of da ship. It was great! Felt so good to have the wind in my fur!

Dis me! Shelter Bay Ferry (Arrow Lake to Nakusp)

We made it to da other side and I am so tired now. I tell my humans I need to sleep. So I do. And take a quick 5 before we spot two dogs on da side of the highway completely distressed!! A lab and retriever! We stop and dey run to our car in need of help. I tell my humans what to do. We call da numbers on der collars and flag down a bigger moving thing that can take dem to safety. A really nice man named Bryan take da dogs to safety in his truck. It felt good to save my fellow K9's!

Sandon Ghost Town. Dis Bus Need Repairs!

Just when I thought it time to sleep, my humans take me to a Ghost Town called Sandon. We follow a very long road without signs or lights. It didn't scare me! I met a cute puppy der and we had a great time! Her name Koda.  I miss her.

Kaslo, BC. Dis new to me. Female human never speak highly of it

We finally make it to a place called Kaslo. I like it here! I get to be outside and der a field to run around in. Okay, I exhausted now. Off to Edmonton tomorrow!

He didn't perform those ones dough. I was really happy to be invited to Red Collar Brewing. I big a fan of dog friendly establishments.I was really tired by the end of da night but had a blast! No after parties for dis pug. Also, I shot dis video of Wes playing music. I got distracted by a man in da background cuz he eating pizza! I love pizza! Today was an amazing day! My humans and I drove in a car for a long time down a very twisty road called da Cocohallah (or something like that). Female human does not like dis road but I did my best to make her feel safe and sat on her lap da whole time! Also, I saw and smelled many new places. We stopped in a town called Hope where I learned dogs can be a police! I snapped dis photo of Chip. I don't think he a real dog anymore, but was, and dis something called a statue humans made in his honour. Maybe someone make a statue of me one day! We also stop in a place called Merritt. It very hot der but famous for being the country music capital of Canada. We also went to a park der because Google told us there was a nice park nearby but I took a picture. Dis park? I don't think so.

Looking forward to all the new smells too. I will miss my bed, couch and doggy friends here in da city but I can’t wait to be around male and female human fur the next little while. Dey all mine as we travel from Vancouver to Montreal and back. My bearded human is a musician so he gonna be playing lots of music in many different places along da way! I hope I get to watch some of his shows but Pugs not always welcome in places dat serve food to humans. If show outside, maybe I get to come! Anyway, female human says I need to pick some toys now to pack for trip.
